15-5 PH is a martensitic precipitation hardened stainless steel favored by the aerospace industry. Its roles in this industry include:

  • Structural components
  • Gears, shafts, and valves
  • Engine parts
  • Nuclear reactor components

15-5 PH stainless steel consists of 15% chromium, 5% nickel, and has excellent corrosion resistance. It was specifically designed to be stronger than 17-4 steel, its predecessor, and can be further reinforced by undergoing heat treatment. In addition to being used in aerospace, it is also utilized in chemical, paper, and food processing industries.

15-5 PH is very weldable and can be readily machined to meet required shapes and conditions.
