316LVM Stainless Steel Data

316L VM stands for low carbon, vacuum melted 316 stainless steel. The vac melt version of 316L is almost always certified to ASTM F138, which signifies it as an implantable stainless.

Because of this ASTM F138 spec, 316 LVM is mainly used in the medical industry, but it is also an important alloy in the body jewelry field. The ability to advertise true implant grade material gives jewelry makers an important edge on their competition for a minimal cost increase.

We keep a complete stock of round bar at all times, so we can nearly always cut and ship material to you on the day of your order.

We have no minimum order, so you can buy only what you need.
